the tell tale heart এর ছবির ফলাফলThis week we have worked on two different kinds of storytelling. Last Sunday, we worked on a few tricks of telling stories. First, we used the famous troy "The Tell-tale Heart" of Edgar Allen Poe for writing a play. We decided a few things for writing a draft.
  • Probable Age: Between 40-45
  •  Setting = a Prison Cell
  •  The stroy is being told to a Prison Mate
  •  Time = we decided that the time could be some time in the past.
সম্পর্কিত ছবিToday Tuesday, we worked on a series of words and phrases and tried to FORM a story out of these. Most of the writers were very bold about writing something different and so, most stories came out to be ALIVE. I loved certain words and attitudes used by our writers. We then moved on to writing a Grant Proposal which we planned to work on throughout the whole year and prepare for the Next Year's EMK Grant Proposal. In the meantime, we also worked on the Vocabulary and for the First time, the students realized the having a Bengali Thesaurus can actually be very effective when you are writing.
For writing our own personal stories based on randomly chosen words, we picked up the following:
    তরু দত্ত the diary of mademoiselle d' arvers এর ছবির ফলাফল
  1.  Envy
  2.  Panorama
  3.  Lemon
  4.  I was trapped
As part of our next Writing Class I suggest that you all work on a short interview of Tanuza who says at the end "I will never tell you about my life!" Here is the link Tanuja INTERVIEW
In our next class I intend to start working on a RESEARCHED Play based on the life of Taru Dutta, the first Bengali woman to have translated major English Poems into French. She was a resident of Dhaka. Her only novel The Diary of Mademoiselle D'Arvers was written in French and has been recently translated into English and published from Delhi. My preferred title for the play will be The Diary of a Writer  (একজন লেখিকার  ডায়রি)।

First Post for 2020 Playwriting Class

সম্পর্কিত ছবিHello! Welcome to the 2020 class for Writing Theatre. This portal will help you keep in touch with your instructor and everyone else about (1) what to write, and (2) how
to write. I hope we will be able to work on a few other things such as reading across different cultures - not only just the Bengali or Subcontinent. The first link is to great Dialogue Writing. The second link is to a wonderful story written by great American storyteller and poet Edgar Allen Poe.
